Scritto di getto nel 2012 in una camera d'albergo del St. Regis di Osaka (Giappone), dopo un blocco compositivo durato 4 anni, il "Concerto in Fa minore per Violino&Orchestra" è forse l'opera più matura, innovativa e coraggiosa del compositore Giovanni Allevi. La forma rigorosamente classica in 3 tempi (Mosso-Adagio-Allegro con slancio) presenta elementi di novità soprattutto nella tessitura ritmica, mentre conserva della tradizione il "superomismo" virtuosistico affidato al Solista, una solida presenza dell'Orchestra che rifiuta il ruolo di puro accompagnamento ed una cantabilità melodica tutta italiana. Guida all'ascolto 00:15 I Movimento: MOSSO Dopo poche misure introduttive e pizzicate dell'Orchestra, il Solista mette subito le carte in tavola con il PRIMO TEMA anticipando le principali caratteristiche del Concerto: la dionisiaca percussività ritmica di una lunga melodia spezzata, in cui nella parte superiore si riconosce chiaramente un canto. Attraverso continue modulazioni la tonalità del Fa minore viene abbandonata e ripresa finché una impegnativa CADENZA del Violino solo, introduce il SECONDO TEMA, struggente, nostalgico e melodico. L'intenso lirismo di questa parte sfrutta tutta l'estensione del Violino e le sue magiche capacità espressive, dove protagonisti si fanno il sentimento e la commozione. Di contraltare lo SVILUPPO sorprende per il carattere giocoso vivaldiano e bachiano, ritmico e brillante, dove il Solista ingaggia un pericoloso dialogo con l'Orchestra, anch'essa tesa verso un virtuosismo mai fine a sé stesso. La RIPRESA del Primo e del Secondo tema, conducono il Mosso alla parte conclusiva in tonalità maggiore: una vertiginosa ascesa verso l'acuto, prepara i tre accordi secchi finali che strappano un sentito applauso dei presenti, rompendo il consueto silenzio che separa i tre tempi, nella tradizionale liturgia concertistica. 00:21 PRIMO TEMA 02:58 CADENZA 04:03 SECONDO TEMA 07:09 SVILUPPO 09:11 RIPRESA Primo tema 10:32 RIPRESA Secondo tema 12:02 MOSSO 12:34 Ascesa 12:45 Finale 13:24 II Movimento: ADAGIO Tradizionalmente in forma romanza, qui l'ambiente presenta subito caratteri inediti: l'incedere ossessivo e minimale in 5/8 del Solista che affronta la sua parte in maniera inespressiva, quasi glaciale. Ma è solo apparenza perché dalla desolazione prende il volo una delle melodie più struggenti ed emozionanti del Concerto. Si odono gli echi del Melodramma italiano dove il Solista sembra piangere il suo amore perduto. Segue una corposa parentesi per sola Orchestra dove armonie modali e dissonanti anticipano l'esplosione di una melodia piena ed intensa, mentre il Solista attende in silenzio il suo nuovo ingresso. La parte ossessiva dell'inizio viene riproposta invertita, affidata all'Orchestra, che in un dialogo sempre più serrato col Solista sembra svegliarlo dall'apatia, fino ad una drammatica esplosione di dolore. Incantevole il finale, dove la musica si solleva dalle vicende umane: un movimento ascensionale del Solista si ferma su una nota sovracuta lasciata sola, che sembra bucare il cielo. Una CODA dell'Orchestra, piena, in progressione modulante discendente conduce l'Adagio al finale, dove la tonalità finalmente maggiore, apre la porta alla speranza. 13:37 PRIMO TEMA 16:10 SECONDO TEMA 17:17 Oscuro, sola orchestra 17:55 Acme melodico 18:44 RIPRESA primo tema 19:36 Drammatico 20:34 Ascesa 20:56 CODA 21:40 III Movimento ALLEGRO CON SLANCIO È violento l'inizio dell'Allegro, quasi fosse una cavalcata, una rivincita sulla vita e le sue ingiustizie. Il PRIMO TEMA virtuosistico, vede il Solista in preda ad una ebbrezza drammatica che costringe l'Orchestra a fare altrettanto in un dialogo serrato. Eppure improvvisamente l'ambiente si fa giocoso, quasi un divertente scambio con l'Orchestra sul filo del rasoio della perfezione dell'insieme. Torna il primo tema in una veste magica stregonica, per anticipare il morbido cantabile del SECONDO TEMA, il quale, sull'onda dell'emozione, spinge la tessitura verso la zona sovracuta del Violino. Segue una lunga ed impegnativa CADENZA che mette a dura prova le abilità virtuosistiche del Solista. Il suo linguaggio monofonico spezzato in grave, medio e acuto rende la Cadenza un brano a sé stante, dall'illusione polifonica. Il Concerto riprende leggiadro per riproporre poi, come da tradizione, la ripresa del PRIMO TEMA e del SECONDO TEMA. "Sotto lo stesso cielo" the live performance. "Sotto lo stesso cielo” (Under the same sky) is my sacred cantata. With these notes I want to celebrate the joy of being alive, the enchantment of Nature, the mystery of creation. I want to imagine that peoples so far away live together in peace, embraced under the same sky. I thought of this song one summer night, lying on a lawn contemplating the heavenly vow, the day before leaving for a tour in China. The Cantata launches a bridge between West and East. In fact, the typical counterpoint of classical European language is accompanied by a sweet Lullaby built on the scales and stylistic features of traditional Chinese music. The protagonists are: Silvia Pantani (soprano), Laura Brioli (alto), Federico Bulletti (tenor), Simone Simoni (bass). Chorus of the Parma Opera, Italian Symphony Orchestra. This is an excerpt from the first performance, which took place at the Milan Auditorium. The live performance of “Violin Concerto in F minor” conducted and composed by the composer and pianist Giovanni Allevi. Violin: Reiko Watanabe Orchestra Sinfonica Italiana Conductor: Giovanni Allevi "My Concerto for Violin and Orchestra is perhaps the work of which I am most proud. I started writing it in a hotel room in Osaka Japan after four years of depression in which I was no longer able to compose music. I am not a violinist (neither was Beethoven) but I followed the flow of inspiration without taking into account the technical difficulties that this music entails on the instrument. The Concerto is in three movements: Mosso, Adagio and Allegro con slancio. The writing is extremely virtuosic for the soloist, who engages in an equal dialogue with the symphony orchestra. In this music I hear the echoes of Italian melodrama, the poignant melody that speaks of a lost love, of hope, of tension towards infinity. In this video excerpt, Reiko Watanabe, one of the most acclaimed Japanese violinists in the world, holds the Stradivarius. Her passion for her is overwhelming, and I thank her for having interpreted my violin concerto by putting her whole soul into it."
